Purpose of the site

Beyond the Stipend provides informational destination guides and tools for making your own fellowship budget. It does not administer placements, take bookings, issue visas, sell insurance or hold your money.

Using figures and calculations

Published evidence has the scope, period and assumptions shown with its source. Costs can change and may not match your eligibility, household or dates. Calculator outputs follow your inputs and the displayed exchange rates; they are not a funding offer, live quotation or guarantee of affordability. Confirm material amounts with the host or provider before committing.

Research-pending categories are incomplete. Tuition, tax, travel, professional registration and other costs may sit outside the six monthly categories. The methodology explains these distinctions and the separate role of arrival cash.

Third-party services

External providers set their own prices, eligibility, contracts, cancellation rules and privacy practices. A resource link does not guarantee availability or verify a specific listing. Any purchase or application is made directly with the relevant provider. Commercial relationships, when present, must be disclosed beside the link.

Saving and sharing

Saved budgets remain on your device and can be lost if browser data is cleared. Download a copy if needed and decide carefully whom to share it with. A direct city link selects a destination; it does not transmit your full personal budget to another visitor.

Content and attribution

Sources and photographs retain their own rights and licences. Check the licence linked with each photo before reuse and retain any required attribution. Linking to our city guides is welcome; do not present an altered budget as an official host or government figure.
